He Kept Trying.
So Do We.
Why We Formed the Rylie V. Rutter Foundation
We formed the Rylie V. Rutter Foundation because losing Rylie to fentanyl changed our lives forever — and we refused to let his story end with tragedy.
His life had meaning, joy, humor, and heart. His loss created a mission: to make sure other families never have to walk the same road alone.
At its core, the foundation exists because of three truths:
1. Rylie’s Life Deserved a Legacy
Rylie was a son, a brother, a teammate, and a light in every room.
The foundation ensures his spirit continues forward — helping people find hope, recovery, and a second chance.
2. Families Need Support Before and After Crisis
When someone struggles with addiction, the entire family struggles.
Treatment is expensive. Sober living is expensive. Transportation, counseling, job readiness — all expensive.
Most families simply can’t carry it alone.
We formed the foundation to honor Rylie by helping others survive, recover, and rebuild with dignity.
The foundation steps in where the system falls short.
3. Fentanyl Is Taking Lives in Our Community
The fentanyl crisis is real, local, and devastating.
Education, prevention and awareness save lives — but only if they reach the people who need them.
The foundation exists to push that message into schools, neighborhoods, and families across El Paso.
